While we are not an emergency vet clinic we do our very best to provide care if your pet is experiencing an emergency. Please call to let us know what emergency your pet is experiencing and we will advise if we can provide appropriate care. If we can not provide the care your pet will need we will make a referral to the closest emergency facility.
Referrals
When a case is more complex than we can treat in our facility we can make referrals for internal medicine, dermatology, chemotherapy, advanced imaging and specialty surgery.
After hours emergencies
Family Pet Veterinary does not have after hours emergency staff in our facility. We recommend that for acute emergencies you contact Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital in Cedar Rapids for 24-hour emergency services at 319.841.5161. We suggest that you call ahead to explain your pet’s symptoms before taking your pet to 755 Capital Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. Overnight and weekend emergencies can be seen by contacting Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities, 563.344.9599, located at 2810 State Street, Bettendorf, IA 52722.
